"I started World Of Goth because I didn't like the way the current zines we're presenting our culture. I really wanted it to be inclusive of REAL goth people, all shapes sizes, genders. I wanted it to feel very posh and vintage underground.
I wanted a safe place where women and trans models/artists etc. could showcase their work while avoiding unprofessionalism and predatory practices prevalent in the modeling/music/art industries.
I draw inspiration from the great post punk (positive punk) bands of the 70's, goth bands of the 80's, 90's and today. As well as artists/journalists/photographers of the past.
I am heavily influenced by the works of Fred H. Berger (Propoganda), and other vintage mags. As well as 60's pop icon Andy Warhol and classic horror directors such as Alfred Hitchcock.
I wanted World Of Goth Magazine to be the perfect blend of Goth and Americana at least that's my vision and I haven't seen anyone do exactly what I do in my style.
Today World Of Goth has evolved into a "Global Love Affair.” An Elite Organization, World Goth Collective & “Worldwide Goth Family."

BY SUBMITTING YOU ARE AGREEING THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND AGREE TO THIS VOLUNTARY POLICY AGREEMENT.
We welcome submissions from photographers, ALL models, make-up artists and designers under the following guidelines:
Submission requirements:
Photos must be 300dpi, shot with an 18-megapixel camera or higher .PNG, .JPEG format.. Send via email, drive, dropbox, file transfer.
Include your bio, measurements, clothing, shoe size, hair, eye color, height, age, hobbies, professional experience. Include credits and all links.
(Content is booked 3-4 months ahead, so please be patient.)
1. Images must be unwatermarked. They may be in color or black & white and of a high resolution PNG or jpeg (minimum 300dpi with at least 2500px on the longest side 18mpx camera highly preferred professional quality preferred). Our page dimension is 8.5x11" or 17x11" for horizontal images -try to stay within these dimensions PLEASE - cropping, and some editing may occur unless otherwise specified. WE PREFER IMAGES BE UNPUBLISHED IF YOU PLAN TO SUBMIT TO OTHER MAGAZINES LET US KNOW THIS MAY RESULT IN YOUR CONTENT BEING PULLED OR NOT BEING CHOSEN.
DO NOT submit lo-res images or selfies!
High resolution PDFs are encouraged and allowed for bands etc with acceptable formatting.
We need to see your images in the highest resolution possible to assess quality for printing. Low resolution images resized will result in poor quality and will NOT be accepted.
DO NOT submit the same picture more than once!
IMPORTANT****When you submit please include ALL credits bio, backstory, sponsors and links in the 1ST message! ****
It makes it easiest to minimize error and reprints.
Please do NOT submit hundreds of images asking World Of Goth to 'take our pick' it is your job to supply your very best photos. Make sure all text is proof read to avoid errors.
2. How many of your images are placed depends on the quality and variety of your submission. Models, photographers and designers can submit but we will ultimately only need the photographers permission. We need 1-10 images and most of them should be in the portrait or VERTICAL format if possible. Horizontal or landscape images are welcome but the main focus can NOT be center - central parts of the image are hidden in the book binding. We prefer variety in your submission - so not endless images of the same model in the same outfit - we prefer at least 2 different outfits and looks, locations, backgrounds etc.
We will be looking for exceptional quality and post-processing, especially skin and makeup attention to detail.
We are looking for something truly goth and special with editing or the overall composition, not simply point and shoot.
Common reasons for rejecting a submission are: images are NOT goth or gothic related, poor skin, poor editing, out of focus, cheap looking lingerie or attire, amateur hair or cheap looking wigs, poor quality or lackluster make-up. Most of all ambitious photos are rejected due to awkward poses and facial expressions.
Preparing Cover Images
Please follow all directions carefully. No matter how you transmit your cover images -- by email, dropbox, drive, or FTP -- they will need to be properly formatted.
We accept the following file formats: TIFF or JPEG. Use highest jpeg quality setting. We will not accept PDF files or MS Word documents.
The longest side of the digital image must be between 1,400-2,000 pixels, with the shorter side proportional.
Scanner resolution must be between 300 dpi.
Please send Highest Resolution files as possible. (JPEG, PNG, TIFF)
The image must be un-watermarked, un-cropped an un-bled (not un-edited photos are always edited by photographer or editor in post processing to ensure, quality, color saturation, flow, clarity etc. Un-edited photos will most likely need to be edited or will not be accepted.)
Make sure the model is not too tall for cover petites work best very tall fashion runway models above 5'9" must be shot well in this regard to account for spacing and header room. We have seen feet cropped off at the shins unacceptable.) This also means watch how tall headpieces, headdresses, crowns are to make sure we account for the header. Be careful about choosing a background for your photo as this may cause cover issues.
Minimal backgrounds always work best. Full body shot, Head shot, torso shot. Left, Right, Center shots we have featured all before no preference. Be very careful in the color you choose for a solid background as well this may result in editing. Multiple (2 or more in a photo) model/artist cover submissions are welcome and is something we have wanted to feature but hasn't yet been submitted.
Zipping files may cause compression and drastically reduce print quality.
Do NOT embed photos directly into email Any images sent by email should be sent as separate attachments. Do not place images in the body of the email.We won't even look at it.
Do not submit any placeholder images what so ever.
Your logo is your responsibility if you want it included.
Reading these terms are your responsibility.
The image must be in RGB (do not send images in CMYK).
Some symbols, characters, fonts, are not cross software compatible.
For interior shots, please submit no more than 6 images of the same model/artist/subject.
We can not process files that are improperly named!
Publishers without electronic capability may send us books, papers, written manuscripts by mail, so we can scan the cover images, flyers, posters etc. This process takes more time, but if you prefer this method, please email us or submit a contact form on our website for our mailing address.
Cover images are chosen from the very BEST submissions. We run split covers - 2 different covers: one front cover artist or feature model and one artist or album cover on the back- this way we feel we can give unknown (but exceptional) photographers and models a chance to grace our cover! Our criteria for a cover is VERY specific, and we typically use themes with each magazine being different from the next. We typically use front center shots, upper body, face shot, with minimal back ground. We have on rare occasion featured outdoor landscape backgrounds etc.
To clarify we prefer clear images that are full length full body, half body or face and shoulders, with a very minimal background, and EXCEPTIONAL post processing, imperfections will be magnified on the cover and will be rejected.
We love very DARK & GOTH graphic and unusual visual images and fantasy landscapes etc that are very eye-catching with professional shot quality hair and make-up. Studio shot images are preferable to location shots as the background is relatively uncluttered.
We also accept single image submissions, flyers, ads for our back page 'SOLO' section - these must be in a vertical or 'portrait' format. Bled and un-cropped.
3. We are looking for very provocative, creative, sensual, beautiful, saucy, sexy, controversial, professionally quality art of goth models, bands, artists, members relevant to culture, graveyards, cemeteries, gothic architecture, fashion, makeup.
Make up skills must be ON POINT.
Must have a goth or gothic feel above all. We are not looking for "just": alternative, tattoos, pin ups, safe & soft-core, mainstream, commercial, generic photographs etc. We take VERY limited fantasy & gothic cosplay (Must be VERY dark in nature. Shot well with appropriate lighting and angels. Props, accessories, backgrounds, should not look cheap & amateur. Usually we save these for Halloween), nu goth t-shirts, "horns" headpiece photos, skull face paint, masquerade, pastel, etc bc we have seen these looks played out!
We are looking for fresh goth concepts for hair and make up tint/colour! When in doubt black is always best.

We want to the LATEST goth fashions current as well as classic!
Themes (this list is not exhaustive just some ideas to get you started): High Fashion, Nordic/Scandinavian Goth, Regal Goth, Goth Royalty, Classic Horror Cinema & Literature, Period Dress (Such as: Elizabethan, Victorian, Edwardian, Regency, Rococo, Renaissance etc etc),(Please NO Steampunk) Hippie Goth. Southern Gothic, Gothabilly, Folk Gothic, Ethnic Heritage Gothic, Vampires, Lolita, Colour Goth (high contrast, monochrome etc) Historical, Mythical, Religious, Esoteric, Spiritual, Occult, Post-Punk(positive punk), Punk, Deathrock, Dark Wave, Cold Wave, New Wave, Teddy boy/girl, Mod Goth as well as other adjacent cultures. Above all we must be able to associate your submission as goth/gothic and artistic!!!
Themes may incorporate: unique ideas, creative concepts, very controversial subject matter, lingerie, fetish, boudoir, & vintage pin-up but must be shot with an intimate artistic feel.
Nudity is encouraged and allowed!
If you are not OK with being possibly featured along side a nude artist then please let us know!
Images should be your VERY BEST and only the highest quality will be considered. DO NOT CROP IMAGES.
4. Your initial submission MUST include all credits, bios, links and be high resolution, un-watermarked & sent via email, google drive, Dropbox, Wetransfer.. PLEASE don't send lo-res PDF's or jpgs, this makes it impossible for us to review the potential print quality of your images before we print them! At risk of us all looking bad and losing money. We will inform you of our decision and if successful we will email you asking for any remaining info, inform you of an interview to be conducted etc and send a release form.

WRITTEN ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS
We consider well written articles that fit with our preferred style. For a list of topics or to have your work published you may email us an inquiry. Please mail physical copies for book reviews.
Please be patient, we always book magazines 4-6 months out-ahead of schedule. So that means if you submit today expect to be in the magazine issue 4-6 months out from the current month's issue. We are very busy editing, marketing, messaging, promoting and taking submissions, as well as writing and reviewing, please keep this in mind!
Help spread the goth word and colonize our dark empire! Do you know goth bands/artists/models? Then by all means let them know about WORLD!
We reserve the right to deny or REFUSE submissions & change our mind or withdraw your submission/photos for any reason at anytime (will notify), remove posts and photos from World Of Goth, share and edit ALL submissions (unless otherwise specified), use submissions on any and all of our facebook page, sites, email, subscription, newsletter, ads, social media, or in collaboration with our partners, and sponsors & radio station partners. We take models as World Of Goth Reps and reserve the right to terminate your contract at anytime for any reason.

We DO accept other genres of underground music: darkwave, deathrock, gothic rock, industrial, goth metal, synth, new wave, cold wave, ebm, cyberpunk, punk, post punk, goth pop, outrun, outlaw country, dark folk, etc....but magazine space for non goth acts is very limited you will be competing with some of the most elite goth bands and artists in the world!
Goths always get preference!
We have featured big name bands: such as Strap On Halo, Cliff & Ivy, Massive Ego, Elude Fearra etc etc.
