'GOTHISM' - THE NEW ALBUM Leeds-based romantic goth act Byronic Sex & Exile release their debut album 'Gothism' on 15th September 2018, accompanied by as full UK tour. Byronic Sex & Exile is a project formed by Joel Heyes (ActionDirecte/Quasimodo/1919) in 2015, committed to reconnecting goth music to it's romantic and revolutionary roots and the cultural legacy of the gothic tradition.Musically epic and deep, with strong influences from '90s gothic rock such as the Horatii, Nosferatu. Suspiria, and London After Midnight, lyrically the project deals with themes of passion, insurrection, and doomed personal ambition, and leans heavily on the gothic literary tradition, Following on from debut released 'Crimes of Passion' (E.P, 2015) and 'Under the Gaze of an Indifferent God' (E.P, 2017), the 'Gothism' album and tour focuses on a history of gothic ideas in song as well as spoken word, incorporating tracks as diverse as 'Hellhound on my Trail', 'Gloomy Sunday', 'Ain't It Fun', and 'Born to Die', and the original tracks that are collected on the album.
